Strategic and Effective Senior-Level Communicator
I am a communication leader with more than 20 years of experience creating and implementing programs that build relationships between organizations and key constituents. My strength is in stakeholder engagement – connecting organizations with constituents in a meaningful way and connecting people with the organizations and information they value.
I bring value to organizations by shaping communication strategies that advance business goals and connect with key audiences. I have experience in several focus areas, including education, environment, manufacturing and technology, and have worked in commercial, government, nonprofit and association settings.
My communication and PR strengths are: strategic planning and execution, online communication (including websites, social media and email), writing/editing, crisis communication, event planning, and project management.
I am currently looking for a senior level communications position in Northern Virginia. My ideal position would be leading public relations and communications efforts for a mid- to large-sized organization that wants to have meaningful relationships with stakeholders.
Help Working with Subject Matter Experts
Do you have to work with people who are experts in their fields but have no idea how to relate to a general audience? “Be an Expert on Working with Experts” is a workshop offered on October 8 in Washington, DC. for communications pros who work with scientists, subject-matter experts or policy wonks.
You’ll learn how to understand communications styles so you can work with, not against experts to get better success when you put these experts in media interviews, donor meetings, speeches, and testimony. You’ll also get tactics, research, and ideas to use to train and support the experts in your company or organization more effectively.
